Last week one of my colleagues had this amazing recipe for some homemade chocolates. Hers looked great so I was really excited to go and try it out for myself!
What you will be needing :
100 grams of walnuts
60 grams icing sugar
2 tablespoons egg white
150 grams dark chocolate
nuts, sprinkles etc. for decorating
My kitchen machine is broke at the moment so I used a grinder instead. It will not give you the fine, dough-like substance like you would with a kitchen machine, so if you have one I would recommend using it, but this also definitely did the job.
Step 1: Grind or chop your walnuts until fine.
Step 2: Add the icing sugar + egg white and grind/chop again.
Refrigerate for 20 minutes.
Step 3: Take out of the fridge and make little balls out of the dough. (my dough was actually a little too wet, so you might wanna try out a bit with the egg white/nutt/sugar proportion. It could also be due to the fact I didn't use a kitchen machine). Put them back into the fridge for another 20 minutes.
Step 4: Chop up your chocolate and melt it in a bowl over some simmering water.
Step 5: Take your dough balls out of the fridge and run them thru the melted chocolat and decorate them right away with the decoration of your choice. Put them on a rack or some parchment paper and let them cool in the fridge till the chocolate is solid.
.. and last but definitely not least, have a cup of tea, sit down in your favourite chair, and enjoy your own homemade delicious chocolates!
