I've blogged about this recipe before here, but I really felt they deserved some more love and attention so I decided to do a step-by-step post on how to make these delicious mouth watering chocolate chip cookies.
You will be needing :
285 grams all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
240 grams unsalted butter (room temperature)
100 grams granulated sugar
220 grams light brown sugar
1 teaspoon of salt
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 large eggs
340 grams chopped up chocolate ( I use 3 kinds, but use whatever you like!)
Step 1 : preheat the oven to 180 C (or 350 F) and whisk together the flour and baking soda in a large bowl.
Step 2 : In a different bowl, put together the butter with both sugars.
Step 3 : with an electric mixer on medium speed, beat the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
(which in my opinion, looks like this ;)
Step 4 : to this mixture, add the salt, vanilla and eggs and beat it on a lower speed until well mixed.
Step 5 : add the flour mixture from step 1 and mix until just combined.
(and hang in there, you're just a few steps away from you own freshly baked chocolate chip cookies mmm!)
Step 6 : take the chocolate of your choice, I went for white milk and dark, and stirr them into the mixture.
Step 7 : line your baking sheet(s) with parchment paper, I only have one sheet so had to bake them 1 batch at a time but if you have more you can use them all. Make tablespoon size balls of dough and drop them onto the sheet leaving some space in between.
Step 8 : bake your cookies in the oven untill they're starting to go golden around the edges but are still a little soft in the middle. It will take you about 8 to 10 minutes to get to this stage. If you want to decorate like I did with some, put the decoration in when they're halfway done so they won't melt completely. Once taken out of the oven let them cool on the sheet for a minute and place them on to a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 9 : You have arrived to -the best- step of this recipe, meaning : you get to eat them! They taste great right out of the oven, and you probably won't be able to resist eating one or two right away but save some for the next day 'cause they will tast even better, I promise ;)
Hope you've enjoyed it and let me know if you've tried them!
