ANTWERP

The sale in Antwerp (solden) is one of the best around and for that reason we're driving up there for the weekend. The solden starts 01-06 and lasts till 31-06, a whole month filled with sale shopping that is. Since we're not only going for the shops (YES that is main reason, but not the only ;) we decided to book a hotel and stay from saturday till sunday.

We have been to Antwerp many times, but I would love to hear what your favourite shops, restaurants or any other hotspots there are. It's so nice to explore new places in a city you already know. So don't hesitate and leave me a comment below or on twitter.

Lots of love, Daphne

AMBER VISUAL RECAP

As promised here are the pictures from the Modebiennale Amber fashion show I attended last friday. The venue was was an old factory which gave a really cool and industrial feel to it. The show started with a very artistic at some bits kinda freaky, but very fascinating video shown on several large screens up on the wall.

After that, the music started and models came down the runway and we saw different looks from amongst others Bas Kosters, Jimmy Paul, Ann Sofie Back, Siki Im and Klavers van Engelen. Click on the names to see more of the designers and check out the pictures I made below :

SWEET 'N SOUR STRAWBERRY'S

Just like the pukka pineapple recipe here, this strawberry recipe is one of my favourite 'quick & easy' things to make for desert. It will only take you a few minutes to make and the red of the strawberry's look gorgeous together with the green of the basil. It might sound a bit strange to add basil to a sweet dish, but it goes sooo well together! Just give it a try :)

What you'll need for 2 persons :

a handfull of fresh strawberry's
2 large (or 4 small) fresh basil leafs
1 tablespoon balsemic vinegar
2 tablespoons of your favourite yoghurt (I used greek yoghurt)
sugar (to your taste)

How to make it :

1. First of all wash the strawberry's and than take of the caps. Cut them in to small dice, sprinkle over the balsamic vinegar and let marinade for a few minutes.

2. Chop the basil untill fine and stirr in to the yoghurt. Add some sugar to your taste.

3. Put a spoon full of the basil-yoghurt on to a nice plate and top it off with the marinated strawberry's. Decorate with some fresh basil leafs and your desert is ready to go!

SOFT PINK

Photobucket

Just a very casual outfit for going out to dinner with friends, had the best pasta ever! I really begin to love these type of outfits more and more.  Strong simple silhouettes in gorgeous colors, just like the soft pink of this satin like blazer.

Never saw myself as a girl wearing soft pink, but I gotta say I'm so glad I took this jacket home with me a few months back. (also comes with pants seen here) This makes me think I should try on more colors I've stayed away from for a while.

  • Oreo flavoured milkshakes. The best on a hot day! (and colder ones as well ;)
  • The models all lined up at the end of the Amber fashion show I went to this friday. It was part of the Arnhem ModebiĆ«nnale I will tell and show you more about later this week.
  • After the show relaxing in a Elle beach chair, sipping my drink and having a good time.
  • Old bike saddle with beautiful gold metal details.
  • Chocolate cake with white and dark chocolate chips inside I just 'felt like baking' Saturday afternoon.
  • Traffic lights in Arnhem we passed when driving back from the ModebiĆ«nnale.

I'm still having some troubles with blogger and posting my photo's (thank you so much by the way for the helpfull comments last time. They were very helpfull!) Hopefully they will fix all these problems they're having lately real soon. Keeping my fingers crossed. Now I'm off to bed and hopefully can get a good night sleep even though it's 25 degrees in our house and you can really feel the heat that's about to come here tomorrow..

Hope you will all have an amazing week and enjoy!
Lots of love, Daphne
