JAN/FEBR-UARY SELECT

  • Loving my new dalmatian print blouse from H&M, I mean dalmatian.. who would've known?
  • A tiny little bluetit snacking from the buffet we displayed for the birds during this cold winter.
  • Okay, so I was too curious to wait an appropriate amount of time before making another batch of these delicious fudge treats. And YES, they do also work with white and milk chocolate :)
  •
  • A cold cold cold little snap in the snow from this weekend *wink*.
  • Instead of sitting at a nicely set table for a weekend brunch we did it 'comfortable style' and sat in front of the tv, drank our milk & tea, ate crackers and watched the DIY showes we taped from the night before. Ahhh...we can be so boring/I love it like that ;)
  • Making lego-man chocolates for Pieter to satisfy his sweet/lego tooth!
  •
  •  Light and tasty dinner for two, wholeweat wraps with avocado, grilled chicken, lettuce and a delicious yoghurt dressing. It was goood!
  • Bunny's first time ever, playing in the snow. Since he's an indoor bunny, he's not used to snow or any outdoor rarities for that matter but he loooved it :)
  • BEST. PRESENT.EVER. Amongst the things you could see in yesterday's post, Pieter also got me these thermo soles, nope not the most sexy gift you can think of but OMG it saved my life (okay, feet..) for the past couple of weeks so much! If you're like me and are always cold, keeping your feet & head warm are the 2 things you wanna do. Head is easy with awesome beanies that are around everywhere, but keeping your feet warm without wearing huge snowboots all the time can be quite the challenge so these babies turned out to be the gift I never knew I always wanted. Thanks babe! Xx

SOME V DAY SNAPS

You'ld almost forget it as soon as it's over, but February is the month of Valentine's day. I know, there are some very mixed feelings about this 'holiday' and maybe it is all just a commercial hype but we decided to go with it this year and do/buy some nice little things for eachother.

When I came downstairs that morning there were such cute wrapped presents waiting for me on the table, Pieter got me a beautiful magazine filled with the most amazing baking recipes (he might have some benefit from this present as well.. ;) and some delicious chocolates! I made him a chocolate heart with some heart sprinkles offfcourrrse and when he came home late that night I surprised him with a tiny 'valentine's day date' in our own home. Very cheesy with candlelight & rosepeddles included!

OUR OLD NEIGHBOURHOOD

warmest parka ever - Gstar (first seen here) // huge knitted scarf - Hema (seen loads of times like here, here & here)

After having a mini-snowball fight AND creating my very first ever snowbunny, we decided to drive up to where we used to live and get all nostalgic (well.. mostly me) walking around our old neighbourhood. Also did a little coat-change, I love my furrr and IT IS actually warm, but with temperatures like this I need to keep my bootay warm at all times! I said it!

2 WALKS IN 1 DAY AND A LOTTA SNOW!

fake fur coat & dalmation blouse (here) - H&M // leopard print jeans - Zara // beret - bought in Paris 4 years ago and it's actually my first time wearing it!

Sooo spring decided to wait just a tiny bit longer.. a lot of snow came in it's place and we decided to make the most of an extremely lazy Sunday that started of with a Joey & Melissa -marathon (don't judge.. ) and go for a walk in this, I almost get tired of saying it but here it is one more last time, winter-wonder-land.

More pictures about the second walk tomorrow! Hope this Monday was a great start of your week, mine went by super fast and the workday was over before I knew it, just the way I like my Monday's ;)

LOTS OF LOVE, DAPHNE

THE EASIEST (AND BEST!) FUDGE, IN THA WORLD

After discovering this amazing (new to me) dutch food blog Uit Pauline's Keuken last week, I stumbled upon this almost too good to be true fudge recipe. But let me tell you this, it is even easier than it seems (you don't think that's possible but ohooww yes it is)  and the variations are endless. Add your favourite cookies, dried fruit or try it with milk or white chocolate. As I was making this for the very first time I stuck to the recipe which goes like this :

Needs :

  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 375 grams dark chocolate, chopped up
  • 150 grams of (salted) peanuts
  • 100 grams dried cranberries
  • 2 hands of mini marshmallows

Steps :

  1. Warm up the condensed milk so it thickens a little bit. (TIP! Do not boil, it will save you a trip to the supermarket to get a new can 'cause you let the first one burn, ahum..) So yes, on a medium heat that is :)
  2. Add the chopped up dark chocolate which will melt, and stir together.
  3. Now add the peanuts, cranberries and at last the marshmallows.
  4. Line a bakingtray or square mold with some parchment paper and put in the fudge mixture, press it down a little bit. Now leave it in the fridge for about 2 hours to let it cool and go solid.
  5. Chop 'em up in to some bitesize pieces, give some to your neighbours, friends and family (to prevent yourself from eating them all and trust me, they will love you for it!) and eat whatever is left accompanied by a big cup of delicious tea. Enjoy!

AYE AYE, WHEN THE COLD CAME BACK

Finding things to do on a drooly grey, not to mention COLD as h*ll which I found out when we just left the street, Sunday can be a fine chalenge! But I wanted to take my new coat out for a spin and with some leftover bread laying around, feeding the ducks was the perfect thing to do.

To sum it up, it was freezing, started snowing again for a little bit, but the ducks seemed so happy nibbling away little pieces of our bread and taking a stroll with your boo is always a good thing no matter what the weather :)

What do you guys do on a lazy grey Sunday?
